NEW YORK, NY - Boston designer Jackier Fraser-Swan is back at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week to show just her second collection at Lincoln Center. The East Bridgewater resident and decendant of Ralph Waldo Emerson (hence the label's name Emerson) is swiftly easing herself into the hippest echelons of NY society. Case in point, the new Emerson Fall 2012 lookbook is modeled exclusively by that hippest of New York hipsters, Leigh Lezark of the Misshapes. Add to that Kelly Cutrone for PR and Jackie is well on her way to becoming a fashion cult fave/rising star.
For the Fall 2012 collection, Jackie was inspired by the women of World War II and how they gained independence as their husbands marched on the battlefields. It's Rosie the Riveter meets pin-up meets 40's Hollywood glam. Jackie explores a range of materials including silk print, denim, wools and some exclusive fabrics she found in Europe. The season's color palette was mostly black but with an infusion of violet, white, gray and a bit of lime yellow.
